Increase to the Race Purse
The Upper Peninsula Sled Dog Association at its 9/14 meeting voted to increase the Dryland Dash purse by $500 to now total $2500. This was done so mushers, many of whom have long distances to come, have a better chance of winning at least some gas money to offset the current prices. Register for the race here.
Food & Drink
The Negaunee VFW will again be offering a Soup Lunch to include homemade soups, bakery, desserts and coffee on Saturday from 11am-2pm. Cost = $5.
Upper Peninsula Brewing Company will do a Welcome Mushers with $3 beers from 4-6 pm Friday at the brewery. They will also have beer on Saturday after the races at the race site.
