Our Mission

  1. Educate the public about sled dog activities including care, training, recreational mushing, skijoring, canicross, and sled dog racing;
  2. Promote sled dog sports;
  3. Sponsor mid-distance sled dog racing events in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, including but not limited to the UP200, Midnight Run, and Jack Pine 30 sled dog championship races, as well as other events which support our objectives.

The Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the Upper Peninsula Sled Dog Association are elected to three year terms, with three terms expiring each year. They are elected at the annual Board meeting in May.  A student representative serves a 1-year term and is appointed by the Board.
