The Upper Peninsula Sled Dog Association is pleased to announce an exciting change for 2023: the UP200 Powered by NMU will now finish at the Ojibwa Casino!

Moving the finish line to the casino eliminates the last 12-mile section of the UP200 trail into Marquette. Mushers shared dog health and safety concerns about that particular section of trail: it can be difficult due to poor snow conditions, snowmobile traffic and numerous road crossings. The Midnight Run finish has been at the casino in recent years and has been well received. While this was a difficult decision to make, were happy to make this change in support of mushers and their dogs.

This decision does not affect Fridays spectacular downtown race start and well be celebrating the beginning of the races as usual. Thank you for your support as we work to fine tune our operations in order for mushers, dogs and spectators to have the best possible experience. And thank you to the Ojibwa Casino for their sponsorship and their partnership in hosting the UP200 Powered by NMU and Midnight Run finishes.
