We on the UPSDA Board are grateful to have had such spectacular events in the past year! From the UP200 Dryland Dash in October through the UP200Midnight RunJack Pine 30 Sled Dog Championship races in February, we experienced the excitement and camaraderie among mushers, officials, volunteers, and spectators. We also experienced the enthusiasm of our many sponsors, donors, start/finish and checkpoint hosts who once again contributed so much to making these events happen. Thank You!

With the onset of the COVID-19 global pandemic, it is impossible to know how things will look come next October or February. We have the UP200 Dryland Dash scheduled for October 10-11, 2020 and the UP200Midnight RunJack Pine 30 set for February 11-15, 2021.

For many, many reasons we hope the COVID virus is contained and that treatment strategies and proven vaccines are quickly developed. However, those things take time and we simply may not be able to host our events involving large gatherings and lots of traveling.

We truly hope we can continue the tradition of offering these events. We know that not having the races will negatively impact businesses and communities who provide goods and services both for and during the races. And of course, we want to be able to welcome all our mushers to the races.

We also recognize that many of the businesses and individuals who support us financially are being severely impacted by COVID-19 and may not be able to offer the same support as they have in the past. A list of our sponsors and donors is on our website. We encourage everyone associated with the UP200 to acknowledge them and shop with them whenever possible.

We are committed to putting the health and safety of everyone involved at the forefront of any decisions about our events. As much as we have trouble imagining next season without the UP200 Dryland Dash or the UP200 sled dog series, we must keep the bigger picture in focus. We value each and every person associated with our events and will make decisions in as timely a manner as possible.

We wish you a safe and healthy summer and hope to see you all soon!
