At a drawing last week one musher from each race won the 50% refund on their entry. The drawing was conducted during the UPSDA meeting where Midnight Run musher representative Lynn Witte drew Jerry Trudells name from the Jack Pine 30 entries. Jerry is from Calumet, MI and has been mushing for 15 years from his Sharks Came Racing kennel.

Katie Lakatosh, our Northern Michigan University student representative on the UPSDA Board, then drew a winner for the Midnight Run. Congratulations to Christina Gibson from Carlton, Washington. Although this is Christinas first time competing in the Midnight Run, she is no stranger to racing. During seven years of mushing from her Whiteout Racing kennel, shes competed in the 2018 Jr. Iditarod and several 100-mile races in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

From our UP200 mushers, Katie drew Wade Marrs as the winner. From Willow, Alaska, Wade has been mushing most of his life, learning the ropes from his uncle and the Redington family. Hes a 9-time Iditarod finisher running from his Stump Jumpin Kennel. We wish Wade the best of luck in his first time running the UP200.

Congratulations to each of our early entry winners and we look forward to seeing you in February!
