There will be a 5 hour rest requirement in Wetmore for upbound UP200 teams.
NOTICE TO IDITAROD QUALIFIERS
Mushers using the UP200 as an Iditarod qualifier will be assessed an additional fee of $25.00, which can be paid during musher on-site registration.
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2023
Race Information Booth and Merchandise are open at Holiday Inn – 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Musher Registration opens at 9 a.m. at the Holiday Inn. All Mushers must be registered by 4:00 PM, prior to the Mandatory Musher Meetings. Please allow 20 minutes for registration.
There will be a “welcome” gift for you to pick up at headquarters and any additional forms requiring your signature will be on hand. Mushers also sign promotional sled banners at registration.
A musher under the age of 18 will require parental and race official approval.
MANDATORY MEETINGS will be held at the Holiday Inn. (The meeting room will be posted at headquarters)
MIDNIGHT RUN meeting is at 4pm (EST).
UP200 meeting is at 5pm (EST).
Race bibs and sponsor sled banners will be distributed at the Holiday Inn. All Mushers are required to be present. This event is limited to mushers, handlers and race personnel.
There will be a split draw for bib numbers, if there are 22 entries in the UP200 the first 11 will draw numbers 1-12 (Bib # 11 remains permanently retired in honor of former musher Billy Orazietti). Bib numbers will be drawn in the order entries were received. The UPSDA board will conduct the bib draw during the musher meetings and bibs will be given to the mushers after conclusion of the mandatory meetings.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2023
Race Information Booth and Merchandise will be open at Holiday Inn from 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
MANDATORY vet check will be held at Riverside Auto parking lot beginning at 9:00 am on US-41 West, near Walmart. Parking is limited so please come at your scheduled time. Rabies vaccine must be given by a veterinarian at least two weeks prior to the race.
It is the musher’s responsibility to call and reserve a vet check time. Please call Pat Woods at 906-458-9994 and please bring your completed paperwork with you to your vet check.
RACE START TIMES
UP200: Opening Ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. in front of The Mining Journal. Downtown Marquette races start at 7:00 p.m.
MIDNIGHT RUN: Will start 30 minutes after the last UP200 team has left the chute, but not before 8:30 p.m.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2023
Race Information Booth and Merchandise are open at Holiday Inn from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
MIDNIGHT RUN AWARDS (3PM ) will be held at the Marquette Township Hall on Commerce Drive. All MNR Mushers receive one ticket and may purchase tickets for handlers and family.
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2023
Race Information Booth and Merchandise are open from 10:00am – 3:00pm in the Iron/Copper Rooms at Holiday Inn.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2023
UP200 AWARDS BREAKFAST (8:00 AM) at the HOLIDAY INN. All UP200 mushers will receive one complimentary ticket and may purchase tickets for handlers and family. Due to COVID-19 considerations, this event is limited to mushers, their handlers/family and race personnel.
