Deerton can be reached by driving east from Marquette on M-28. Follow the sign to the right leading to Deerton. Here the Midnight Run competitors will have a five hour layover, so viewing mushers and teams here are great. The U.P. 200 mushers use the same part of the trail as the Midnight Run, so they will pass by before the Midnight Run mushers reach Deerton. There will be food and parking available in Deerton.
