Tim CalhounTim won the UP 200 in 2007. He was the first Wisconsin musher to win a major Pro Class sled dog race. In addition, Tim received the Tom Cooley award from the trail veterinarians for displaying exceptional care of his dogs throughout the 240 mile race. Tim began mushing in 2003 by training and conditioning sled dog teams for Dr. Ron Cortte, an Iditarod musher now living in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. In the Summer of 2006 Tim started his own kennel called "Seek Wilderness Adventures". Jenny, his wife of 19 years, and their three children help with kennel chores and at the races. Tim enjoys coaching, training and conditioning a competitive team and strives to bring out the best in each dog. Raising, working with and running sled dogs is a "good family activity" according to Tim and "a great way to spend time outdoors." Handling for Tim this year will be Matt & Cody. Leaders this year will be Jimmy and Opal and Willy. Goal for this years race is to run the dogs to the best of their ability.
