SLED DOG RACE SILENT AUCTION PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY

Silent Auction preparations are underway.      MARQUETTE, MI –– Volunteers Patty Holman and Audrey Warren are busily organizing the silent auction for the U.P. 200 & Midnight Run Sled Dog Races.  Ms. Holman has worked for the race organization for the past two years as a volunteer selling race merchandise, and Ms. Warren has been a race volunteer for many years.  She and her husband Fred have provided barrels for fires at many crossings where volunteers work continuously, ensuring the safety of the dog teams as they traverse busy roads.

The silent auction promises to be new and exciting.  Past items sold at the auction have included handmade satin jackets, paintings, and dog sled rides. The auction will run from Wednesday morning, Feb 15th until after the banquet dinner on Thursday evening, Feb 16th at our headquarters in the Holiday Inn of Marquette.

Holman and Warren are now actively seeking donations which will be offered to bidders. If you have an item that you would like to donate, please contact Ms. Holman by email at kipskid@chartermi.net, or Ms. Warren at AudreyWarren@juno.com.

According to Pat Torreano, President, Upper Peninsula Sled Dog Association, "we hope many people will stop in throughout both days to make a bid on some of the great donations they are collecting."
